MalOvent is an adult horror visual novel centered around SCP-1471. Over the course of play you'll be presented with choices that matter not only for you as the main character, but for the greater world around you. Will you be able to unearth the truth before the walls come crashing down?

For the time being there is only the English version of the game available. Translations into other languages will be addressed in the final builds of this project (i.e. v0.3 and beyond).
All music and SFX were generated specifically for this project by DJLC & Caelan Serrano. You shouldn't run into any copyright issues if you stream or post your playthrough to YouTube! Though if you do, let us know ASAP!

Install instructions
For Windows and Linux, Extract and run MalOventAlpha.exe
For Mac, Extract the .zip, right click on MalOventAlpha.app, and select Open
For Android, you will need to sideload or use whatever magic you normally do to install non-Play Store .apk files. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I've been told this website explains things rather well.

What platform are you on?
so far, I love the game and the fact that it revolves around mal0 makes it even better i especially love how fluffy the tail is. However I've noticed a very strange issue, the screen is cut in half and the bottom half is pushed to the right so the top and bottom of the screen aren't lined up. No clue if I can do something to fix this or not but any suggestions are appreciated.
Huh, that's a new one! We've noticed that if you click too fast through some transitions weird things can happen. If you can replicate this screen tear or at least get it to pop up multiple times, we can figure out a possible fix!
I can easily replicate it as all I need to do is launch the game. For some reason without doing anything and from the first time I launched the game it's always been like that. I'll try to uninstall and reinstall to see if the download was messed up in some way. Another note that I didn't put in the first comment is that it seems only background things are effected, for example when a character pops up behind the text box like when you view mal0 through the camera that's not cut in half but everything behind it is. while the mal0 pictures you're sent are cut in half. I'm bad at explaining things so I'll grab more pictures to show what I mean when I can and add them to this comment.

Good writing, good art (got a new desktop wallpaper now) and music that really sets the tone.

Finally, a good Mal0 game. I kinda wish it was more interactive though, but a completely linear visual novel can also be good.

MalO's gender will remain static. One of the lessons we learned from A Fortnight at Frenni Fazclaire's is that offering multiple gender routes balloons the scope and art required. So yes, the game will be straight!
